After being exposed to cosmic radiation, a crew of astronauts develop superpowers that they must use to thwart the schemes of their antagonist, Doctor Victor Von Doom.
Four persons experience cosmic ray changes as a result of an experimental space mission gone wrong. The group’s creator and leader, Reed Richards, adopts the name Mr. Fantastic and acquires the ability to stretch his body. Sue Storm, his girlfriend, adopts the moniker “the Invisible Woman” and learns how to construct force fields and become invisible. Johnny Storm, her younger brother, obtains control over fire and transforms into the Human Torch by dousing himself in flames. Ben Grimm, a pilot, is transformed into Thing, a super-strong rock creature. Together, they explore the odd facets of the world and thwart Doctor Doom’s wicked schemes with their special abilities.
