Year will mark the return of many tournaments to LAN and possibly the return of two Majors a year
Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) promises to have a busy season in 2022.
Last year the competitive scene was dominated by Natus Vincere (NAVI) , which, in addition the PGL Major in Stockholm and the Intel Grand Slam, won other seven titles.
In all, the Ukrainian team earned more than US$ 4.2 million of the total of US$ 21 million, that is, it earned about R$ 23 million of the R$ 116 million offered throughout the competitive year (in direct conversion).
See below for more details on the 2022 season and see the table with Valve ‘s top FPS tournaments and their dates throughout the year.
For 2022, Valve should return to holding the Major twice a year, depending on how the Covid-19 pandemic is.
Thus, if confirmed, the biggest tournament on the competitive calendar could return to the classic total prize pool of US$ 1 million, something around R$ 2.7 million.
There is also the possibility that one of the events will take place in Rio de Janeiro, which had its edition canceled in 2020.
The ESL, in turn, expanded its range of competitions , and will now have an exclusive women’s circuit,
which will distribute US$ 500,000 in total .
In addition, major FPS organizer Valve has revealed changes to its Pro Tour, giving teams a chance to qualify for the ESL Pro League.
Teams that could emerge in 2022 Having dominated the year 2021, Natus Vincere is the team to beat next year. Not far behind appears Gambit, another great candidate from the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) to have an imposing 2022. Across Western Europe, powerhouses G2 Esports, Ninjas in Pajamas (NIP) and Team Vitality also show some favoritism. The last one was the departure of Richard “shox” Papillon from the French team.
